Our sincere thanks to all the volunteers, both adults and children, who worked on ten sites during our Evening of Action to make prepare our grounds for First Communion and 75th Anniversary celebrations. Flowerbeds in the front yard were cleared, dug and planted with shrubs, bedding plants and perennial bulbs. Flower beds, vegetable plots and the black path in the back yard were weeded. The entrance gate, cement flower containers and fence were painted. Repairs were made to the fence and wormery. The prickly hedge in the back yard was weeded and fertilised. Containers were planted at the entrance door and on the lower corridor.
Thank you too to the volunteers who worked before & after our Evening of Action: Darragh Connolly who advised on landscaping works; Peter Blackwood who cleared overgrown hedges and shrubs; and Derrick Byrne who transported waste for recycling once all activities were completed.
On behalf of the entire school community, thank you to everyone who ensured that our Evening of Action was a huge success. If anyone is interested in starting a Gardening Club in the Autumn, please let me know.
