During Irish Engineers Week, rang a dó and rang a trí had a visit from Aengus Nolan, an Engineer from Intel and a parent in our school .
He set them the challenge of constructing a bridge using paper clips, 4 metres of string, blue tack, straws and elastic bands. The span of the bridge was 75cm and had to hold a small dinky car. They had 15 minutes to design the bridge and one hour to construct it. The winning engineers received a goodie bag from Intel Ireland!
The task was challenging and the winners were from the Sugarloaf Mountain Group: Reuben, Aoife, Oscar, Leah, James and Leonie. Comhghairdeas!
They named their bridge “Steady Bridge” and indeed it was!
The Steady Bridge! Winning Bridge chosen by our Adjudicator Aengus Nolan.
