Wow! Wow! Wow! What a school, what wonderful children and runners and what great teamwork! We had another successful day on Thursday 25th November. This time we had a much larger number of children competing in the Wicklow Open Cross Country Event, with up to 8 boys and 8 girls from each class representing St. Mary’s & St. Gerard’s N.S. This event was different from the relay event earlier in the month in that each child ran as an individual, with 3rd and 4th Classes running 800m and 5th and 6th Classes running 1000m. Medals were awarded to the top 10 individuals and to the top 3 teams, with team scores being calculated by combining individual scores. Once again our children ran fantastically, supported each other and the joy and singing on the bus home was probably to be heard throughout the county. Thank you again to Theresa Kinane and her team for another wonderful event, so well organised.
