Children’s Books Ireland advocates for well-stocked school libraries to guide young readers and runs a annual book gifting scheme for schools. This year, our school has been selected to receive An Bosca Leabharlainne – a box of 25 original Irish language books handpicked by Laureate na nÓg, Áine Ní Ghlinn. In addition, as part of the Enterprise ROAD Forward book-gifting package, the school has been given a copy of Why The Moon Travels written by Oein DeBhairduin and illustrated by Leanne McDonagh for each student in 6th Class in addition to digital resources to support use of this book in the classroom. We look forward to reading these amazing books and thank Children’s Books Ireland and its partners for their generous gift.
