The Minor Schools Swimming Championships took place at the National Aquatic Centre on 15th January 2023. This was the first time for the Championships to take place since 2019, due to Covid-19 restrictions. We were delighted to be represented by 5 wonderful swimmers: Alannah Healy, Annabel O’Reilly, Caragh Healy, Fiadh O’Connor & Íde O’Keefe. Swimmers must have qualifying times to enter this gala, and so it is a wonderful achievement to qualify for the Leinster Championships.

Our 10 and Under Girls Relay Team of Fiadh, Caragh, Alannah Healy and Íde O’Keefe participated in:
Girls 10 and Under Medley Team Relay 3:52.45 2nd **SILVER**
Girls 10 and Under Freestyle Team Relay 3:29.09 2nd **SILVER**
Fiadh and Caragh have qualified for the Irish Schools Finals and will go on to represent St. Mary’s & St. Gerard’s N.S. at the Irish Finals in the National Aquatic Centre on 25th March 2023.
Congratulations girls! We are really proud of you all.
Meanwhile the swimteam continues to train and work on their aquatic skills and the four competitive strokes and our aim is to have an even bigger team qualify for the Leinster Championships next year and it would be great to have a boys relay team too.
