On Sunday 14th January 12 swimmers represented our school at the Leinster Schools Swimming Championships held in the National Aquatic Centre. We were really proud of the efforts of all the boys and girls. All 12 of our swimmers put in great performances, some swimming in their very first gala.
Alannah Healy finished in 3rd Place claiming Bronze in both 🥉50m Freestyle (43.14s) and 🥉50m Butterfly (52.83). Fiadh O’Connor claimed 🥈Silver in 50m Backstroke (44.51) and Bronze in 🥉 50m Freestyle (35.69). Our Girls U/10 Relay Team of Fiadh, Alannah, Katie McGovern and Eve O’Neill claimed Bronze in both the 🥉Medley Relay (3:41.26) and the 🥉Freestyle Relay (3:20.27). A bonus on the day was to be presented with the medals by Olympian Ellen Walshe!
Fiadh, Alannah, Katie and Caragh Healy all achieved Irish Qualifying Times and will go on to represent our school at the Irish Minor Schools Championships, taking place in the National Aquatic Centre on 24th March.
Our swimmers had great fun on the day and were really supportive of each other. The photos say it all. We are really proud of you! Congratulations!!!
