Junior Infants
Look at our Seeds Growing!
Today I took home our vegetables and replanted them into larger pots. We have turnips, spinach, carrots, chives and lettuce growing. Look at the potatoes seedlings, they have finally sprouted! The strawberry plants are also doing well. I promise to look after them and will send regular photos of their growth.
Printing
Recently we created patterns by printing with different objects in the classroom.
Spring is on the Way!
Today as Junior Infants went on their nature walk around the school, they discovered the very first sign of Spring! A snowdrop had appeared in the front garden.
Investigating Weight
WEIGHT This month we are looking at Weight and comparing objects of different weights and sizes. We used tights as weighing scales to investigate the weight of different objects! Then we used Balance Scales to find out which objects were heavier or lighter. Creating a Balance from wooden blocks!
Exploring Antarctica
Over the next couple of weeks, we are exploring life in Antarctica, looking at the different animals who live there and learning about the famous Irish explorers Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean. Building the Scientist Station on Antarctica! Making Emperor Penguins! Creating Antarctica out of rice! Exploring Antarctica through play!
