When we were on our Easter holidays, Peter noticed a few visitors in our school yard.
In September. we planted Spring bulbs on our school grounds – daffodils, tulips, anemone, irises, hyacinths, snowdrops & crocii. On Thursday last, we planted vegetables in recyled tyres that Peter had painted – peas, beans, beetroot, potatoes, chives & carrots. The children in 5th Class have started the Incredible Edibles project. Incredible Edibles is a healthy eating initiative for Primary School pupils. It encourages schools across the country to get busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries, turnips and herbs. Here the children are planting their vegetables. Well done to all the children who made beautiful Christmas Tree decorations out of recycled materials. An amazing 84% of the children in Second Class walk, park and stride, cycle on carpool on their journey to school every Wednesday. On Friday 16 May, the school celebrated Mrs Mc Grath’s retirement and An Taisce’s award to the school of our 7th Green Flag.
